Where they are

Your episodes are stored on our server in Germany, in a folder only your account can reach. Nobody else who uses Vandcast can see them.

What is kept

Everything you add or make in an episode, the cover, and your newest exports (the three most recent MP3s per episode). Audio you delete from an episode goes to a trash and is removed after 7 days. Temporary working files are cleaned up automatically.

AI services

Audio or text leaves our server only when you press an AI action (narration, script help, music, cover, AI noise removal, transcript). It goes to the provider that action uses, and only what is needed. We do not use your files to train models. The providers have their own rules; where they allow it, we use the settings that stop them from training on your data.

Removing things

Delete an episode in the app to remove it. Delete your account to remove every episode. See Delete your data.

Back-ups

We keep server back-ups for disaster recovery. Deleted data leaves them as the back-ups are replaced.
